ARRIVAL  AND  DISMISSAL

Arrival:

Please be sure that your child does not arrive at school before 8:45 A.M.  (Afternoon kindergartners should not arrive before 12:35 P.M.)  There is no supervision available before that time.  We ask for your cooperation in this important safety matter.  In the morning, students will line up with their classes in the following areas:

            Kindergarten -- sidewalk near the archway door to the kindergarten rooms

            Grades 1,2,3 -- main entrance near flagpole

            Grades 4,5 -- sidewalk at the southeast corner of building near 4th and 5th grades

Please see the “Traffic and Safety” section for information about dropping off and picking up students.

Late Arrivals:

Students who are late arriving to school will be marked tardy.  They should report directly to the main office to check in before going to class.  It is very important that students arrive at school on time each day.  Please help your student take responsibility for getting to school in a timely fashion, developing this important life-long habit!   Children will need to make up lost instructional time after school for excessive tardies.

Dismissal:

If you wish to meet your child coming out of the building, please park and wait near the main entrance, beyond the flagpole, in order to avoid congestion.  Please see the “Traffic and Safety” section for information about picking up students after school.  Remember, the parking lot adjacent to the school will be closed to all traffic between  3:15 and 3:40 P.M.

Please be sure to send a note to school if there will be a change in your child’s transportation. Please try  not make a practice of calling our office to advise your child of a change in his/her transportation as it is difficult for us to notify your child without interrupting the classroom instruction.   Thank you for your help!
