HOMEWORK

Students will be assigned homework based on their grade level and needs.   The staff believes that homework should:

·        provide practice of skills taught in the classroom;

·        promote independent research which requires students to go beyond practice into self-initiated work;

·        encourage development of student’s own interests by enabling the student to expand worthwhile school activities;

·        acquaint parents with what their children are learning in school and to invite help when desirable.

Parents may request that homework be sent home for students who are out of school for an excused absence (i.e., illness, death in the family).  Homework will not be given in advance for students who are out of school due to an unexcused absence (i.e., vacations, trips).

All students should read every night!!
