Louise White School Color Run

THE MOST COLORFUL RUN OF OUR LIFE

Submitted by: Lindsay Ripke

BATAVIA, IL (September 21, 2021) – Louise White School (LWS) held its 4th Color Run on Thursday, September 16th with over 300 students participating in the one-mile run. This community event is a fan favorite at LWS that puts a colorful smile on everyone’s face. The theme “A New Hope” (for Star Wars fans) was not only fitting for the times we live in but was also designed by one of our LWS family’s, Ali and Cory Blane.

The evening started with stretching led by Denise Espinosa from Batavia’s Soma Yoga Studio in downtown Batavia. LWS’ very own, Mr. Walt Zimmer, was the MC/DJ extraordinaire by keeping students and families aware of the schedule of events and providing music throughout the evening. Even our littlest/future Prairie Dogs were able to get in on the fun by completing a Pre-K Color Dash to kick off the event.

Groups of students in grades K-2 and 3-5 completed a one-mile run at LWS. The laughter and smiles were contagious all evening as students and families encouraged each other, created new and fostered old connections, and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

This event could not have been possible without the unwavering support of Dr. Kevin Skomer, Principal of LWS, the Louise White PTO, parent volunteers, as well as the Louise White community!

Students walked away from the LWS event knowing that if life hands you COLOR…run with it!
